What is the difference between counselling and life coaching?

  • Works with issues that are obstructing your ability to function in every day life.
  • Psychological or psychotherapeutic theories are used by counsellors to expand an understanding of you, your problems, their root causes, and possible ways out of them.
  • Pays attention to how your past is manifesting in the present in a maladaptive way.
  • Factors that maintain your problem are likely to be taken into account.
  • It may feel like you are reconstructing your sense of self.
  • Transformation may feel less obvious in the short term yet noticeably powerful shifts in the long term. 

 

  • Emphasis is on your goals & finding solutions to help you achieve your immediate and desired outcome.
  • Coaching is collaborative, challenging, and keeps you accountable to help you achieve your set goals.
  • Coaching may provide a creative approach to finding answers to questions or resolving problems that affect you in daily life.
  • Is based in the here-and-now.
  • Transformation may feel more immediate or obvious, especially in every day life functioning.
  • Coaching may invite you to explore areas that you may have not considered such as, your life purpose, future self, & core values to help you claim and live the most fulfilled life you dream of and deserve. 
  • Both can help to break down a problem and gain clarity.
  • Both can be centred in the here-and-now.
  • Both can feel solution-focussed and collaborative.
  • Durations of both can be short-term or long term.

Hello! I work with a wide range of clients to help them overcome problems with confidence. 

After just 12 sessions, they have reported, experiencing reduced -> hiding from others, panic attacks, self-criticism, self-hatred, and feeling more -> assertive, proud, self-belief, alive, confident, having improved relationships, and seeing the bright side of life.

Witnessing these changes in my clients demonstrates to me again and again, how we are not forever stuck in a state such as anxiety or depression, and that with some courage, commitment, and dedication, our problem can change, shift and transform.
